We are building shared engineering foundations for Capgemini's Financial Services AI practice: governed environments provisioned in minutes, a catalogue that makes reusable work easy to find and deploy, and automation that keeps the platform secure and cost controlled.
You will report to the practice's Global CTO. Platforms only create value when people use them, so you will also take what you build into client organisations and help their teams establish governed environments for AI delivery.
The places you work from day to day will vary according to the role, your needs and those of the business. The role will blend Capgemini offices, client sites and home working, subject to business and client requirements.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role:
- Design and operate self-service environments through infrastructure as code, including cloud and data-platform blueprints, agent runtimes and synthetic data capabilities that can be provisioned in minutes.
- Build guardrails from the start, including identity, tagging, budget limits, automatic teardown, data-egress protection, and audit logging.
- Create catalogues and packaging pipelines that turn prototypes into deployable, demonstrable solutions with automated tests and evaluation gates.
- Measure provisioning time, adoption, cost and reliability, and use those insights to improve the platform continuously.
- Build engineering best practices in the team, mentor colleagues and develop talent.
- Embed with client platforms and engineering teams to establish governed AI environments adapted to their cloud, security and regulatory constraints.
- Help clients design cost controls and operating models for AI workloads.
Your Skills:
- 6-8+ years of experience in platform, DevOps or cloud engineering, including infrastructure as code such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines you have built and operated.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of at least one hyperscaler: AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, plus experience administering Databricks or Snowflake.
- Good understanding of open-source technologies.
- Strong security fundamentals across identity, secrets and network isolation, with a practical understanding of cloud cost management.
- Strong Python scripting skills and confidence with containers and orchestration.
- A product mindset: engineers are your customers, and you measure adoption and outcomes.

How to prepare for a job interview at Capgemini
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Capgemini uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
✨Showcase Your Projects
Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
