We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and govern change initiatives across Core Banking Platforms ensuring seamless delivery of programmes spanning retail banking, business banking, payments, lending, and regulatory compliance. The role is responsible for shaping the direction of strategic change, driving end-to-end execution, and maintaining delivery excellence across mission-critical banking transformation programmes.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role:

  • Create and maintain delivery plans aligned to the Product Owner roadmap ensuring clear visibility of milestones across Core Banking, Payments, and Lending functions.
  • Strong understanding of retail banking operations, customer onboarding, transaction processing, payments, loan servicing, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Establish delivery disciplines, Agile cadence, and governance standards for the feature team supporting core banking change.
  • Proactively manage issues, risks, and dependencies ensuring timely escalation and resolution across technology and business teams.
  • Own delivery status reporting ensuring accuracy of scope, timeline, resourcing, RAID logs, and compliance checkpoints.
  • Lead vendor and third-party management including RFPs, contract negotiation, and performance governance for banking technology partners.
  • Control financials and resource forecasting ensuring spend aligns with project budgets and cost-to-serve expectations.
  • Take end-to-end ownership for delivering banking products and platform enhancements on time, within cost, and to the required quality standards ensuring controlled change and stable releases.
  • Ensure alignment with bank-wide governance forums, risk committees, architecture boards, and compliance approvals facilitating smooth delivery across Core Banking and Digital channels.

Essential Skills Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience delivering banking transformation programmes with strong grounding in change management and project management practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog management, and continuous delivery models in a banking environment.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior business leaders across Retail, Business Banking, Risk, Compliance, and Technology.
  • Analytical problem-solving mindset with the ability to design practical solutions for business-critical banking processes.
  • Ability to interpret and manage the intersection of complex business needs, legacy core banking systems, digital channels, and stringent legal regulatory requirements.
  • Proven capability to manage competing priorities and deliver at pace in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Solid understanding of the financial services industry especially around regulatory change (e.g., PSD2, FCA guidelines, operational risk controls).
  • Knowledge of Group Change Governance, Strategic Change Execution, Board Standards.
