The UK marketing and communications team works closely with the business to support the ambition for growth. With expertise in sector-focused, integrated marketing campaigns, event management, account-based marketing programmes, pursuit support and external communications, the team supports the business strategy by building brand awareness, enhancing our offers and driving market and mind share.
The successful candidate will lead and drive the delivery of multiple and varied external communications activities aligned to the priorities of Capgemini in the UK. The role centres on strengthening Capgemini's reputation, deepening understanding of our capabilities, elevating key spokespeople and ensuring a clear and consistent corporate voice in national, business and trade media.
You will be part of the local external communications function reporting into the Senior External Communications Lead along with specialists in digital and sustainability communications, working closely with the wider UK Marketing & Communications team, as well as liaising regularly with Capgemini Group communications colleagues.
Hybrid working: The places you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role
In this varied external communications role – with a focus on media relations, executive visibility, thought leadership and agency management – you will be involved in promoting Capgemini's thought leadership, portfolio offers and capabilities to reach UK decision makers in key sectors (including consumer products and retail, energy and utilities, public sector, manufacturing, transport and telecoms). Working with marketing managers and our PR agency, you will amplify important company moments, build a steady flow of relevant news, and drive integrated campaigns that reflect the themes shaping the UK business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing external communications campaigns
- Leading and motivating our PR agency to deliver high-quality, proactive media activity that supports a consistent news pipeline
- Building and maintaining strong media relationships and managing inbound enquiries effectively
- Working with a diverse range of stakeholders across the business to identify stories, commentary opportunities and insights that reinforce Capgemini's expertise and market position
- Increasing visibility with national and business media through systematic amplification of priority campaigns, announcements and flagship events
- Raising the profile of senior spokespeople through structured profiling strategies, targeted opportunities and high-quality thought leadership
- Preparing spokespeople for interviews and briefings, ensuring clarity, alignment and readiness
- Developing polished written materials, including press releases, media statements, communications strategies, messaging, social media and blog content
- Managing approvals for UK activity and ensuring materials are aligned with broader Capgemini Group messaging and strategic direction
- Reporting on impact of external communications activity for key stakeholders
- Providing communications counsel to senior leaders and collaborating effectively with teams across the UK business with guidance on best practice
- Sharing insights into media and digital trends to inform planning and identify opportunities for innovation and collaboration with marketing and communications colleagues
- Contributing to key marketing campaigns and event activations with digital and media relations support, applying strong corporate communications judgement

Your Skills And Experience
- Previous experience (4-6 years) in a PR/media relations role, ideally with B2B PR agency experience
- Proven experience managing or leading a PR agency team and delivering proactive, high-impact media campaigns
- A proactive, strategic mindset with an interest in business and technology themes
- Confident communication and stakeholder-management skills, including working with senior leaders
- Strong writing and messaging skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and maintain a consistent corporate voice
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Your security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
