Your role:

As part of the huge growth in demand in our Energy Transition & Utilities practice, we are seeking an experienced senior leader to join our highly talented team, working on the pursuit and delivery of major advisory, consulting and transformation services across our sector. Our clients within Energy Transition & Utilities include those within the sub-sectors of Energy Networks, Energy Retail, Energy Central Markets, Water and Nuclear. Driven by major investment in the sector and the unique position of our Capgemini Invent business, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our services and teams. Our vast utilities experience, strong strategic and business transformation skillset, a deep understanding of digital, data and a highly collaborative approach has allowed us to build a successful track record of delivering leading edge consulting services and solutions for our clients. This role is designed to further expand and strengthen our position in this market.

As a Director within the Energy Transition & Utilities practice, you'll help set the direction, drive forward the business, own senior client relationships, take a leading role in orchestration across our business, model our values and behaviours and coach and develop junior members of the team. You will combine deep sector expertise with strong consulting skills, leading client engagements and supporting the expansion of our client base across electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks.

Specifically, you will deliver activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development: Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Project Delivery: Leading engagements with our clients and delivering them with quality, on time and on budget.
  • Internal contribution: Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development: Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Shape and win new opportunities, defining and delivering the programme structure, resourcing, delivery approach and competitive commercial model to successfully deliver the change that solves our clients most pressing challenges.
  • Define and deliver digital-enabled business transformation programmes to implement our clients strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and manage teams to achieve high quality delivery focused on client value.
  • Contribute to our propositions, in conjunction with our global network, to enable our success in the market.
  • Contribute to growing and leading our Energy Transition & Utilities business and our team.
  • Model the values of Capgemini across internal and client relationships.
  • Leveraging the power of our global Capgemini organisation to drive high quality delivery and client success.
  • Build strong, long-lasting client relationships as a trusted advisor at all levels.

Your profile:

You will be someone who is excited by working on challenging projects and building a team and business that will grow together, someone that has:

  • A strong understanding of what drives project and operational performance and experience in deploying scalable business and technology solutions.
  • A successful track record in the definition and delivery digital transformational programmes.
  • Broad experience of delivery within large complex programmes, typically in programme director, programme manager and project management roles.
  • Significant experience gained within consulting in the energy and utilities sector.
  • The ability to collaboratively create winning solutions - taking a client issue, and working with the client, account team and across Capgemini to create a solution that the client can approve.
  • The ability to develop and lead diverse teams, spanning the client environment, multiple business unit and multi-national.
  • The ability to build enduring relationships, at all levels of an organisation based on high integrity and trust.
  • An entrepreneurial flair and a willingness to take calculated risks, alongside a keen appetite to develop new skills.

We'd love to meet someone with:

  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from others in delivering consulting solutions.
  • Significant experience of leading workstreams or projects in the energy industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication including track record of managing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
