Your role:

As part of the significant growth in demand across our Energy Transition & Utilities practice, we are seeking an experienced Director to join our highly talented team, working on the pursuit and delivery of major advisory, consulting and transformation services across our sector. Our clients within Energy Transition & Utilities include organisations across Energy Networks, Energy Retail, Energy Markets, Water and Nuclear. Driven by unprecedented investment in digital transformation, AI and operational modernisation, our clients are seeking support to move beyond experimentation and establish AI as a core capability across their organisations. This role is designed to further expand and strengthen our position as a market leader in AI-enabled business transformation.

As a Director within Capgemini Invent's Energy Transition & Utilities team, you will help set the direction, drive growth, own senior client relationships, lead major transformation engagements and build the next generation of AI-enabled consulting capabilities. You will combine deep Energy & Utilities expertise with strong consulting, transformation and digital leadership skills, helping clients define their future operating models and realise value from AI at scale. Specifically, you will deliver activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development: Leading and contributing to major opportunities, proposals and pursuits across AI, digital and business transformation. Originating and shaping consulting engagements through existing and new client relationships. Building market-leading propositions, offerings and thought leadership. Developing strategic relationships with technology partners and ecosystem providers. Supporting account growth and expansion across Energy & Utilities clients.
  • Project Delivery: Leading major AI-enabled transformation programmes and strategic advisory engagements. Acting as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders across business, technology and operations functions. Defining AI strategies, operating models, roadmaps and business cases. Establishing AI Centres of Excellence, governance models and scaled adoption approaches. Supporting clients through the design and implementation of digital, data and AI-enabled transformation.
  • Internal Contribution: Leading capability development across AI Consulting, Business Transformation and Future Utility propositions. Contributing to practice operations, recruitment, campaign development and proposition creation. Developing reusable assets, accelerators and intellectual property. Supporting cross-practice collaboration across Invent and the wider Capgemini Group.
  • Learning & Development: Supporting the development of consulting, AI and leadership capabilities across the practice. Coaching and mentoring future leaders. Building capability communities and supporting talent development initiatives. Contributing to internal learning pathways and certification programmes.
  • Thought Leadership: Developing market-facing points of view and industry insights. Representing Capgemini at conferences, client events and industry forums. Building Capgemini's reputation as a leader in AI-enabled transformation within Energy & Utilities. Supporting publications, whitepapers and sector research.

Your profile:

We'd love to meet someone with:

  • Significant experience gained within Consulting and/or Energy & Utilities, including deep expertise across one or more of Energy Networks, Water, Energy Retail or Asset & Capital Delivery.
  • Exceptional consulting skills, demonstrated through experience within a major consulting firm and/or senior industry leadership roles.
  • Proven experience shaping and delivering large-scale business, digital and AI-enabled transformation programmes.
  • Experience building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience developing propositions, services and market offerings.
  • A track record of building and leading high-performing consulting teams.
  • Deep understanding of the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption within regulated industries.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth, innovation and transformation.
  • Commitment to developing people and building future consulting leaders.

You will bring subject matter experience, expertise and intellectual capital across a broad range of advisory, consulting and transformation services, which may include all or some of: AI strategy, adoption and transformation. AI operating models, governance and centres of excellence. Business, digital and operating model transformation. Asset, capital and operations performance improvement. Future workforce and organisational change. Design and deployment of AI-enabled products, services and solutions. Emerging technologies including generative AI, agentic AI, automation, digital twins, IoT and advanced analytics.
