The Lead SAP Automation Engineer will take ownership of automation delivery across SAP processes, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions under tight timelines. This role requires strong SAP or ERP knowledge, and the ability to lead, guide, and unblock the wider automation team. The Lead Engineer will drive best practices, resolve complex issues, and ensure automation readiness for programme milestones.
Your Role And Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, creation, and execution of automated regression packs across SAP processes using Tricentis Tosca.
- Oversee and deliver automated field-masking tests using Playwright.
- Act as the primary escalation point for resolving complex or blocking technical issues, working closely with solution leads, architects, and delivery managers.
- Ensure consistent and high-quality defect documentation in Jira, and oversee retesting cycles and defect workflows.
- Provide clear progress updates, risk visibility, and quality reporting to team leads during daily stand-ups and project ceremonies.
- Support, mentor, and upskill junior automation engineers to ensure efficient team output and delivery quality.
- Contribute to automation strategy, standards, and continuous improvement across the test function.
Required Skills:
- Expertise with Tricentis Tosca ideally expert.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP or large-scale ERP systems (Oracle and others considered).
- Proficiency with Jira for defect logging, workflow management, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience leading or guiding others within agile, sprint-based delivery environments.
- Excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder management capability.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to make confident, informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently while supporting and coaching less experienced team members.
Desirable Skills:
- Playwright + JavaScript automation experience.
- Working knowledge of VSCode.
