DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP

You will be working towards a full-time job and studying towards a degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University on our flagship BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions. It’s a 3-year course in which you will have an initial 12-week bootcamp on campus at Sheffield Hallam University. You will then study part time using a blended approach to learning, encompassing both on campus days and online learning, whilst doing your fulltime role. You will learn many industry standard technologies and cover modules such as programming fundamentals, systems analysis and design, database administration and software engineering concepts. The degree includes a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.

We are looking for tech passionate individuals to want to start their career as an apprentice in the IT industry. You will be joining a large business area working for our largest UK public sector client working with inspiring experts from which you can learn from and enjoy the career opportunities this brings. You will be joining a large community of Graduates and Apprentices across the business.

As an Apprentice Software Engineer you will be an integral part of one of our Scrum teams. You\’ll work with a diverse group of senior and junior engineers who share your passion for Agile practices, high-quality software, and innovative problem-solving. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with team members to design, develop, and deliver software solutions that meet our client\’s needs.
  • Embracing Agile methodologies to enhance productivity, communication, and project success.
  • Learning from experienced senior engineers and mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Dedicated time to pursue technical certifications and professional growth opportunities to advance your career.
  • Exploring a wealth of exciting projects that will challenge your skills and broaden your horizons.

YOUR PROFILE

To be eligible, you need:

Plus one of the following:

  • 3 A*-C at A-level (NOTE: AS Levels are not included)
  • Completed Advanced Apprenticeship
  • BTEC (Minimum of MMM)

This role is only available to be based in our office in Worthing. As such you will need to be based within a commutable distance to the Worthing office where you should expect to typically be in our Worthing office 3 days a week. This specific role is not available to be based in any other UK office, but other opportunities on our website have more flexibility on locations.

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.

Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.

Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
