Your Role
Our Full Stack Engineers sit within Digital Excellence, part of the Business Technology practice. In this role, you will build digital solutions for clients, combining business value with a consultative approach. You will also lead engineering initiatives, manage team members, engage stakeholders, and support recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain microservices with Java (Spring Boot) and front‑end applications with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, NoSQL and SQL database interactions, Docker containers, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins).
- Apply cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools to deliver robust solutions.
- Lead and mentor a cross‑functional team, manage project timelines, and facilitate stakeholder communication.
- Contribute to proposals, RFPs, bids, and client pitches; host client events and internal knowledge‑sharing sessions.
- Participate in internal initiatives such as whitepapers, practice development, and learning & development programs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building microservices with Java (Spring Boot).
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, Docker, and Docker Compose.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and agile development.
- Strong soft skills, including time & risk management, problem solving, and empathetic leadership.
- Active Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to obtain it.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB) or SQL (PostgreSQL).
- Understanding of web standards, accessibility, and best practices.
Bonus
- Experience building microservices in C#.
- Knowledge of LLM integration (Vercel AI, LangChain, etc.).
- Experience with the GOV.UK Design System and Nunjucks.
