Your role: As part of the huge growth in demand in our Energy Transition & Utilities practice, we are seeking a consultant to join our highly talented team, working on the delivery of major advisory, consulting and transformation services across our sector. Our clients within Energy Transition & Utilities include those within the sub-sectors of Energy Networks, Energy Retail, Energy Central Markets, Water and Nuclear. Driven by major investment in the sector and the unique position of our Capgemini Invent business, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our services and teams. Our vast utilities experience, strong strategic and business transformation skillset, a deep understanding of digital, data and a highly collaborative approach has allowed us to build a successful track record of delivering leading edge consulting services and solutions for our clients.
The successful candidate will join our Central Markets sub-sector, where they will bring experience in GB energy market systems and regulation, either as a consultant, or from working within the industry for a central body, energy supplier or network operator. You will leverage this experience and insight to primarily work on technical regulatory changes. Key activities for the role include:
- Developing and assessing technical changes to energy industry central systems
- Ensuring effective implementation of industry changes from a central code body perspective
- Providing advice and guidance on technical aspects of the regulatory framework and the technical systems that support that framework
- Providing technical guidance to support the development of solutions to address industry challenges
- Providing training and support to industry parties
- Develop and implement strategies to support our clients in improving energy consumer outcomes
- Leading continuous service improvement initiatives
- Undertaking ad-hoc projects as required
As a member of the wider Energy Transition & Utilities (ET&U) sector, you will also have opportunity to get involved in initiatives across ET&U, for example, supporting revenue generation opportunities with new and existing clients.
Your profile: You'll have a blend of the experience below:
- Regulation – An understanding of GB Energy Market regulation, with SME level expertise in industry systems.
- Technical Operations - defining new ways of working and new processes, working with industry parties to define solutions that address industry challenges; and/or Central Markets experience – developed by working with or for the organisations that are in scope – such as Ofgem, DESNZ, NESO, Elexon, DCC, RECCo and more.
You will also bring management consulting skills, which may include all or some of:
- Defining and delivering digital technology requirements
- Managing technical change effectively
- Applying working knowledge of modern architecture frameworks and technologies
- Identifying and resolving client issues and problems
- Defining and delivering change programmes
- Driving operational improvement and delivery
- Managing industry change and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrating experience in delivering within varying team sizes and collaborating with multiple stakeholders at different seniority levels to achieve tangible, positive outcomes
