Role purpose/summary
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our operations team, contributing to the stable performance and continual improvement of a host of Enterprise Integration Services, across a range of infrastructure platforms. Leveraging knowledge in Java based products such as Weblogic and Springboot, you will play a vital role in delivering and supporting the EIS Contracts' Software Roadmap during its transition to Cloud Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Must have 5 years solid Java experience.
- A proven Java knowledge & experience in Java Microservices specifically, Java Spring Framework and Java Spring Boot.
- Will have worked on cloud-based solutions utilising AWS.
- Experience of creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines including Bamboo and Git Runner.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills team ethic.
- Have experience of working in a Scrum and Kanban environment.
- Have experience of Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming.
- Capable of innovative thinking and strong problem-solving skills, to feed a healthy backlog of internal system and service improvement work.
- A regular on-site presence to promote and encourage hybrid working in others.
What Technologies are they required to know
- Developing using Java 7 upwards, with Spring Framework & Spring Boot.
- Use of Oracle and MongoDB within solutions.
- Kubernetes with Helm.
- Red Hat Linux.
- Scripting in Shell Script, Perl and SQL.
- Jira, Confluence.
Nice to have
- Experience of supporting Weblogic based Services.
- Experience of working on Legacy infrastructure, including physical data centre.
