As an IT/OT Solution Architect, you will lead the design of secure, scalable and supportable solutions that bridge operational technology, enterprise IT and cloud platforms. Working across industrial environments, you will translate business, operational and engineering requirements into end-to-end architectures spanning PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, historians, OT networks, industrial edge platforms, enterprise integration and cloud services. You will play a key role in enabling reliable industrial data flows, establishing integration standards and guiding delivery teams to implement modern IT/OT convergence solutions that balance innovation with operational resilience, cybersecurity and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end IT/OT solution architectures that connect operational systems, industrial edge technologies, enterprise platforms and cloud services.
- Design integration and interoperability strategies using technologies and patterns such as OPC UA, MQTT, APIs, event-driven architectures and Unified Namespace.
- Provide technical leadership and design assurance to engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and aligned with architectural standards.
- Develop reusable architecture patterns, standards and industrial data models while coordinating decisions across OT, networking, cybersecurity, cloud and data domains to support consistent and resilient deployment at scale.
Your profile
You are an experienced IT/OT Solution Architect with a strong understanding of industrial automation, enterprise integration and cloud technologies. You can translate complex operational and business requirements into scalable, secure and resilient architectures that connect industrial systems with enterprise and cloud platforms. Combining technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement skills, you are comfortable leading architecture workshops, challenging design decisions and providing technical direction across multidisciplinary teams. You bring the ability to balance innovation with the operational realities of industrial environments while driving consistent, supportable and future‑ready IT/OT solutions.
Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of industrial automation and OT environments, including PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, historians, OT networking and the operational requirements of live production systems.
- Proven solution architecture experience across OT, edge, enterprise, data and cloud environments, with expertise in integration technologies and patterns such as OPC UA, MQTT, APIs and event‑driven architectures.
- Experience designing scalable, resilient and secure industrial data solutions, including data contextualisation, transformation, store‑and‑forward capabilities, recovery mechanisms and other critical non‑functional requirements.
- Excellent consulting, communication and technical leadership skills, with the ability to lead discovery workshops, produce architecture artefacts, provide design assurance and coordinate engineers and specialists across OT, cloud, data and cybersecurity domains.
