Your role
We’re looking for a talented SCADA Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting, developing, and enhancing our operational technology environment. You’ll work across a range of SCADA components and systems, helping to ensure our control-room operations, resilience capabilities, and telemetry infrastructure run smoothly and securely. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with experts, and working hands-on with complex systems.
You’ll work closely with internal SCADA development teams, external specialists, and technology vendors such as Emerson/DGM to deliver robust, tested, and secure SCADA solutions. From system integration testing to defect triage and operational readiness, you’ll be at the centre of delivering reliable, secure, and operable systems that keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
- Configure and support core SCADA components (points, alarms, screens, logic, telemetry, datasets) and ensure systems operate reliably.
- Carry out system and integration testing, including writing and executing test scripts, and triaging defects across SCADA, data, comms, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal/external specialists to deliver resilient, secure, and failover-ready SCADA environments aligned with OT cybersecurity standards.
- Contribute to operational readiness through procedures, training input, and support for control-room and parallel-run preparation.
Your profile
We’re looking for an experienced SCADA Engineer with a strong background in operational technology and control-room environments. You’ll bring hands-on expertise across SCADA platforms preferably Monarch, OSI, or Emerson and be confident configuring, testing, and troubleshooting complex systems that underpin safe and reliable operations.
You’ll thrive in a fast-moving programme environment, working with multiple stakeholders and adapting to changing priorities. Experience in critical national infrastructure, large-scale SCADA upgrades, or OT cyber-secure environments would be a real advantage.
- Strong SCADA engineering background (Monarch/OSI/Emerson preferred) with experience configuring points, alarms, HMI, comms, and telemetry.
- Hands-on testing capability across SIT, functional, and system testing, with solid defect analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of OT networks, system resilience, and control-room operations, with the ability to operate effectively in complex programmes with tight timelines.
- Desirable: experience in electricity transmission or CNI, exposure to major SCADA migrations or upgrades, OT cybersecurity knowledge, and familiarity with Monarch/OSI/AspenTech/Emerson vendor platforms.
