Your role
We are looking for motivated Mechanical Design Engineers to support current and future flight spacecraft projects. You will support the design of new structures and the integration of sub-systems from concepts through to final designs. The role will include mechanical design, systems integration and build support activities.
You work closely with project managers, system engineers, manufacturing and senior/ principal analysts.
- Design of components/ systems to fulfil customer requirements using 3D modelling tools and techniques
- Completion of manufacturing drawings to enable component procurement and support of manufacturing activities and inspections
- Documenting and implementing design changes using Engineering Change Notices
- Writing detailed assembly procedures and technical build information
Your profile
- Competent use of SolidWorks CAD package is essential and familiarity with MRP systems is an advantage
- Specifying/ identifying appropriate materials, surface treatments and finishes for mechanical component design in aerospace applications
- Electrical harness design and integration experience/Design of components/ systems to fulfil customer requirements using 3D modelling tools and techniques, specifically using AutoCAD (other CAD packages considered)
- Completion of manufacturing drawings to enable component procurement and support of manufacturing activities and inspections
