Your Role
In this pivotal role, you will serve as a guiding mind to a critical Aerospace and Defence client in the north of England, providing strategic consultancy and implementation expertise across multiple manufacturing domains, with particular experience in Siemens toolsets and PLM solutions. As a trusted advisor to both our team and client executives, you will leverage your comprehensive understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies to design, implement, and optimise integrated manufacturing systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in bridging the gap between engineering design and shopâfloor execution through digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Consultation â consult directly with client executives to develop manufacturing system strategies, conduct comprehensive shopâfloor gap analyses, and make evidenceâbased recommendations.
- Solution Architecture â evaluate, recommend, and architect appropriate digital solutions, develop system architecture roadmaps that align with business objectives.
- CAD/CAM Excellence â advise on, architect, and implement sophisticated CAD/CAM solutions with a focus on NX toolsets.
- Process Planning Architecture â design and implement robust BOM and manufacturing processâplanning structures within PLM Teamcenter and SAP environments.
- Manufacturing Execution Systems â lead conceptualisation and implementation of MES delivering 3D modelârich method information to the shop floor.
- Shop Floor Digital Infrastructure â assess, design, and implement IT/OT infrastructure and machineâtool connectivity solutions for a fully integrated digital manufacturing environment.
Your Profile
- Demonstrable consultancy experience to help the client identify, articulate, and solve key strategic problems.
- Exceptional problemâsolving capabilities with the ability to provide innovative manufacturing solutions at an enterprise scale while managing technical risk.
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with systemâarchitect expertise in Model Based Manufacturing methodologies.
- Mastery of NX CAD/CAM software, including advanced functionality for complex manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of PLM Teamcenter architecture for manufacturing process planning.
- Expertise in Computer Aided Process Planning and BOM management at an enterprise level.
- Understanding of MES architecture, implementation strategies, and integration methodologies.
- Proven ability to architect and implement shopâfloor IT/OT infrastructure and machineâtool connectivity solutions.
- Deep understanding of Aerospace and Defence manufacturing requirements, compliance considerations, and security protocols.
- Executiveâlevel communication skills and ability to present complex technical recommendations to client leadership.
- Experience conducting manufacturing systems gap analysis, developing strategic improvement plans, and leading implementation initiatives.
- Track record in evaluating, selecting, and implementing manufacturing software solutions that deliver measurable business value.
What You Need To Know
This is a hybrid role, with travel expected between client and Capgemini sites as well as home working. Candidates must be Sole UK Nationals and either hold or be able to obtain MOD SC clearance. The position is 5 days a week on site in BarrowâInâFurness.
