Capgemini Engineering is looking for Nuclear Systems Engineering Consultants to join our rapidly growing team to support one of the UK’s leading nuclear organisations. Our portfolio of projects includes work across all areas of the nuclear industry, from new build to radioactive waste management. As well as directly supporting systems engineering tasks for our clients, we also offer consultancy services to improve organisations' systems capabilities and enable digital transformation.

As a Consultant within Capgemini Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the country’s leading experts in the nuclear sector, contributing to some of the most complex and high-profile client engagements. You will play a key role in the design and development of nuclear systems, working on cutting-edge technologies that drive the future of nuclear power.
- Design and develop nuclear power plant systems and components through technical readiness and regulatory assessment programmes.
- Conduct analyses to optimise designs and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations for client stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Support business development through maintaining an awareness of client resource requirements.
- Manage requirements and product definition data using systems engineering toolsets.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years' experience in the nuclear sector.
- Understanding of nuclear physics, nuclear safety, and radiation protection.
- Familiarity with nuclear regulatory frameworks.
- Experience of working in a multi-discipline engineering context (mechanical, electrical, systems, safety, human factors, security).
- Master's degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years' experience in the nuclear sector, with at least 3 years focusing on design development and/or analysis.
- Knowledge and experience of nuclear power plant systems, advanced reactor designs (e.g., SMRs, Gen IV reactors), and waste management.
- Knowledge and experience of mechanical, structural or I&C applications in the nuclear sector.
- Knowledge and experience of IBM Rational DOORS, Capella, Siemens Teamcenter, AutoCAD, MS Office.
