Overview

As a result of a rapid period of growth Capex Recruitment are working in partnership with an industry wholesaler in the Newry area on the appointment of a Warehouse Operative.

If you thrive under pressure, and have a ‘will do’ attitude be able to work as part of a team but also on your own initiative then this could be the perfect role for you.

This role is key to the smooth operation of the Newry Head Office, controlling the flow of stock through the warehouse, monitoring goods in and out safely and efficiently picking, packing, moving and handling items and recording stock movements.

Responsibilities

  • Picking, packaging and labelling orders before they are dispatched
  • Checking for damaged or missing items and keeping accurate records
  • Loading goods for dispatch
  • Maintaining stock, storing goods and stock adjustments by hand or a forklift truck
  • Checking and inspecting goods received, ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type and acceptable quality. Moving, recording and storing inbound goods.
  • Stock turnover management
  • Perform general warehouse duties
  • Maintain the warehouse in a tidy state; clearing away packing material and debris
  • Adhering to health and safety rules and regulations

What you will need to succeed

  • Forklift Certification – Valid licence for counterbalance and reach truck
  • Reliability and Punctuality
  • Health & Safety Conscious
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
  • Be friendly, helpful, with a positive attitude and be a flexible team player
  • Basic numeracy and literacy – able to read labels, follow written instructions and perform simple calculations
