Job Title: Event Manager Location: Godalming, Surrey – hybrid working a possibility, can be discussed on interview Salary: £38,000-£42,000 per annum, dependent on experience Hours: 47.5 per week with flexible schedule Contract Type: Permanent, full time with paid overtime at pro rata hourly rate Caper & Berry is a vibrant, award-winning caterer serving exquisite dishes at events across London and the South East; from intimate dinner parties and canapé receptions to extravagant yet elegant weddings and all-out parties and premieres. We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Event Manager with a passion for organising and delivering the highest quality events. You will have a proven track record within the event catering industry, having at least two years’ experience working across different venues and managing events of all sizes. It is essential that the successful individual has industry knowledge, excellent standards and can communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have a commercial mindset and be confident in delivering events to a set budget whilst not compromising on quality. The Role You will have direct contact with clients, taking over the planning after being briefed by the Sales Team and their initial organisation of their event. You will be responsible for all operational aspects of the event from this point onwards and be expected to be the hands-on manager on the day, ensuring the event is delivered in line with Caper & Berry’s excellent reputation. Day-to-Day Managing the onsite delivery of events Liaising with clients in the lead up to the events and amending plans to suit their requests Booking front and back of house staff for each event and motivating the whole team Collaborating with the Sales, Kitchen and Warehouse teams to ensure a cohesive delivery of all events Attending site visits with clients and other suppliers Overseeing the entire logistical operation for your events alongside the warehouse team, including transportation and packing lists Ordering hire items including equipment, linen and kitchen setups Generating detailed notes and function sheets before the event and communicating these across the wider team Producing accurate RAMS/Health and Safety documentation as required Liaising with chefs regarding menus, allergens and dietary requirements Building and maintaining relationships with our preferred suppliers and venues Updating and re-issuing quotes to reflect final plans and controlling the overall event budget Working autonomously and effectively managing your own workload and flexible working hours Adhering to strict venue regulations and good practices Promoting the high standards and values of Caper & Berry at all times Your Skills At least two years’ experience of successfully organising and delivering high profile events Outstanding project management and client service skills Ability to communicate effectively and confidently in person, on the phone and by email Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office Passion for and extensive knowledge of food, drink and hospitality Commercial understanding and excellent financial acumen Benefits Competitive salary plus paid overtime Healthcare/wellness cashback scheme Holiday entitlement that increases with length of service Daily cooked lunch Learning and development activities for colleagues at all levels Generous employee referral bonus Flexible schedule On-site parking Option to work from home when possible Office/HQ has a beautiful countryside location
