Role Description

The Finance Officer (part-time) will support CapEQ’s financial operations and reporting processes in a hybrid role based in the Greater Reading Area, with flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and reviewing financial statements, assisting with monthly and annual financial reporting, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The role also involves reconciling accounts, monitoring cash flow, and providing analytical insights to support leadership decision-making. The Finance Officer will collaborate with partners and team members to ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations, and to contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong finance and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and supporting decision-making.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements and financial reporting, including management and statutory reports.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within professional services, advisory, or SMEs.
  • Comfort with hybrid working arrangements and ability to manage time and priorities independently.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheets and accounting software; familiarity with UK accounting standards and tax principles is an advantage.
  • Professional qualification or part-qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical business practices and alignment with B Corp values around people, purpose, and impact.
