- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks
- Manage supplier pre-qualification and Approved Vendor Lists (AVL)
- Commercial & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage equipment supply contracts, including warranties, performance guarantees, LDs, and Incoterms
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks such as currency exposure, lead times, and supplier performance
- Ensure alignment with contractual frameworks (NEC, FIDIC, bespoke agreements)
- Supplier & Market Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key OEMs and suppliers across the UK and Europe
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain dynamics
- Manage supplier performance against KPIs throughout project delivery
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering teams to align specifications and drive value engineering
- Support early-stage project development with procurement input (budget pricing, lead times, feasibility)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems
Key Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven procurement experience within the renewable energy sector (solar, BESS, or wind)
- Strong technical understanding of key equipment packages (modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end procurement of high-value contracts
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and collaborate with engineering teams
Desirable:
- Experience in co-located solar + BESS projects
- Knowledge of UK grid connection and DNO processes
- Familiarity with procurement systems (SAP Ariba, Oracle, Procore, etc.)
- MCIPS qualification or equivalent
Skills & Attributes:
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation capability
- Analytical and data-driven approach to procurement
- Confident communicator across technical and commercial stakeholders
