Capel Manor College is seeking a high-quality teacher of Animal Management to join our team as an Advanced Practitioner. This role represents the next step in our teaching career pathway and is designed for teachers who demonstrate strong classroom practice and are ready to contribute to the development of teaching and learning within their department.
You will continue to deliver high-quality teaching across Animal Management programmes while also supporting colleagues through coaching, mentoring and the sharing of effective practice.

We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 5 teaching qualification (DET / Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent)
- Has relevant industry experience within the animal sector (zoo, farm or similar)
- Demonstrates strong teaching practice and a commitment to highâquality learning
- Is ready to take the next step in their teaching career
- Enjoys sharing effective teaching strategies and supporting colleagues
- Is passionate about helping students succeed in a practical learning environment
About the role
- Lecturer Scale 25â35
- You will receive an extra responsibility payment of ÂŁ1,000 per annum for this position which will be paid in equal monthly instalments.
- An additional payment of ÂŁ1,000 per annum will be awarded where Advanced Practitioners meet the Ofstedâaligned KPIs, evidenced through demonstrable impact on teaching quality and learner outcomes across their caseload.
- 3 hours teaching remission per week to support coaching and quality improvement activity
- Fullâtime, permanent role
- Based at Mottingham Campus
