Team Leader in Animal Management

About The Role and Person

Capel Manor College is seeking to appoint a Team Leader in Animal Management to join its team.

Our School of Animal Management offers a variety of courses including Level 1 Introduction to Animal Care, Level 2 Animal Care Technical Diploma, and Level 3 Animal Management Extended Diploma. We also provide Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Veterinary Science and Animal Science and Welfare, along with apprenticeships for Keepers and Aquarists. Additionally, we run Higher Education courses in Animal Management, Zoology, and Biodiversity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing a curriculum area within the department. They will work collaboratively with staff to foster a culture of self-assessment and continuous improvement, promote high standards of teaching and learning, and ensure high levels of student achievement and progression. The Team Leader will act as Lead Internal Verifier, ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures, and will actively promote innovative teaching methods responsive to student and industry needs.

We welcome applications from experienced curriculum managers seeking a new challenge, as well as outstanding classroom practitioners looking to move into management. The ideal candidate will hold a HND, degree, or similar qualification in a science or animal-related discipline. Experience in the Animal Management industry and a strong commitment to animal welfare are essential.
