About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Horticulture to provide high-quality teaching and learning to our Horticulture students aged 16-18 years and 19+ adults.
The ideal candidate will be delivering and assessing to the appropriate examination body standards across Levels 1 and 2 on a range of subjects related to Horticulture, including but not limited to Amenity Horticulture, Plant Science, Propagation, Soil Science, Machinery, Landscaping and Ecology, and basic Garden Design principles.
The post holder will provide high quality teaching on the College’s Horticulture courses and ensure the effective learning of students being taught. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students. They will be supported by a team of practical instructors and technicians with regards to the provision of practical learner activities and ensure that all requirements and regulations relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times.
Key Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in a related discipline. We welcome applications from experienced Lecturers and from those with recent relevant industry experience who are interested in passing on their skills to others. Compensation
The actual salary for this role is £14,405 - £15,945 for Unqualified Lecturers and £16,823 - £22,197 for Qualified Lecturers, inclusive of London Weighting.
