About the Role and Person

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Animal Management to provide high-quality teaching and learning on our Animal Management courses.

Our School of Animal Management offers a wide range of courses including a Level 1 Introduction to Animal Care, the Level 2 Animal Care Technical Diploma, the Level 3 Animal Management Advanced Diploma, Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Veterinary Science and Animal Science and Welfare, a Keeper and Aquarist apprenticeship, and higher education courses in Animal Management and Zoology, as well as Animal Management and Biodiversity. We have excellent facilities and a varied animal collection – exotics, farm and companion animals, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds across all campuses.

Responsibilities

The post holder will provide high-quality teaching on the College’s Animal Management courses and ensure effective learning of students. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting challenging goals for all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback, and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours expected of students.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in an animal-related discipline, science or associated subject. We welcome applications from experienced Lecturers and from those with relevant industry experience who are interested in passing on their skills to others.
