- We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable
- Lecturer/Assessor – Landscape Technician to join our Apprenticeships team, delivering the
Level 3 Landscape Technician Apprenticeship to employers across London and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced apprenticeship tutor or a qualified landscaping professional looking to develop the next generation of talent within the industry.
About the role
Working as part of our Apprenticeships team, you will manage a caseload of apprentices, supporting them from enrolment through to End-Point Assessment.
The role combines online teaching with workplace assessment, allowing you to build strong relationships with both apprentices and employers while ensuring learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the apprenticeship standard.
Key responsibilities include
- Deliver engaging online and blended learning sessions to Level 3 Landscape Technician apprentices.
- Visit apprentices in the workplace to carry out coaching, assessment and progress reviews.
- Plan and prepare learning resources aligned to the apprenticeship standard.
- Assess learner work, providing timely and constructive feedback through the College's e-portfolio system.
- Conduct tripartite reviews with apprentices and employers.
- Prepare apprentices for successful End-Point Assessment.
- Monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Maintain accurate records in line with ESFA funding requirements and College quality standards.
- Develop excellent working relationships with employers, supporting high-quality apprenticeship delivery.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
About you
We are looking for someone with excellent industry knowledge, a passion for education and the ability to motivate apprentices to achieve their full potential.
Ideally you will have
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
- A Level 3 (or above) qualification in Landscaping, Landscape Design, Garden Design, Horticulture or a closely related discipline.
- Recent industry experience within landscaping, landscape construction or garden design.
- Experience of delivering or assessing apprenticeships.
- An assessor qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent organisational, communication and digital skills.
- Confidence delivering engaging online teaching sessions.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to employer sites.
Experience with landscape design software such as
Vectorworks, Sketch Up, Digi Map or similar CAD packages would be advantageous.
