Overview

Capel Manor College has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer/Assessor in Arboriculture to join its apprenticeship team. We are looking for an industry professional with experience in arboriculture to work with our apprentices and their employers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with prospective apprentices to determine suitable training pathways and identify organisational training needs.
  • Plan, organise, and undertake regular visits to apprentices in their workplaces to review progress, discuss learning experiences, handle documentation, and address concerns related to their education.
  • Organise and visit workplaces to ensure that employers comply with course requirements and health and safety standards.
  • Deliver classroom teaching for a Level 2 Work-Based Qualification, including creating engaging activities, preparing lessons, providing feedback, and marking assessments.
  • Provide feedback to work-based apprentices and their employers from assessments and training plans, liaising with tutors to ensure that all aspects of the apprenticeship standards are met for timely success.
  • Inspire apprentices of all abilities, demonstrate flexibility in responding to employer requests, and adapt to rapidly changing priorities to offer a responsive service.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Passion for land-based learning and the ability to inspire others.
  • Industry experience in arboriculture.
  • Ability to deliver classroom-based learning and assess progress for a Level 2 Work-Based Qualification.
