Capel Manor College is looking to recruit a Human Resources (HR) Advisor to join its busy Human Resources Department. The HR Advisor will play a key role in providing effective advice to support managers and employees. The postholder will have specific responsibility for overseeing employee relations and staff sickness & absence management.

The role involves providing expert advice on attendance, performance, disciplinary, grievance, capability, overseeing hearings and appeals and ensuring all casework is accurately documented and managed to a high standard. The postholder will also monitor and report on data available from activity and trends and will use the information to offer tailored training to managers. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to a wide range of people management activities.

With a commitment to continuous improvement, they will play an important role in strengthening management capability, promoting positive workplace culture and supporting the College's strategic people objectives. Experience managing complex employee relations cases and sickness absences is essential. Candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. They should have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines. They should be able to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and have the ability to deal with difficult issues in a sensitive way. A CIPD qualification would be advantageous.

In the first instance, the role will initially be based on site at our Enfield campus. However, consideration may be given to basing the successful postholder at an alternative campus if it is closer to their home location.

At Capel Manor College, we are dedicated to creating and promoting an equal, diverse, and inclusive workforce that empowers all employees to reach their full potential. We strive for a truly representative workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Additionally, we are firmly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of our students. We expect all staff members to share and uphold this commitment.

Please note that the College does not have a sponsorship licence. We are therefore unable to consider applicants who do not have the right to work in the UK. We reserve the right to close a position once sufficient suitable applications have been received to form a short list. Early application is therefore encouraged.
