About The Role and Person

We are currently seeking to appoint a part time Farm Shop Assistant to join the team at Forty Hall Farm. The successful candidate will work within our Farm Shop, selling the farm’s organic farm produce, including fruit, vegetables, wines, flowers and free‑range meat alongside other artisan produce and gifts. The primary responsibility of the Farm Shop Assistant is to deliver great service to customers visiting the shop. This will include serving customers and ensuring the shop is well stocked and clean. Additionally, they will undertake other various tasks associated with the efficient operation of the Farm Shop.

The candidate should excel in building positive relationships across all levels, possess strong communication skills for effective interaction with shop customers, staff, management, and farm colleagues. The candidate should have good numeracy and literacy skills and be competent using a payment terminal and other shop equipment. Experience working in customer services or dealing with customers and members of the public is essential. The ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure during busy shop hours is crucial. Team collaboration is emphasised, and familiarity or willingness to learn social‑media skills, particularly on Instagram, is desired. Weekend working will be required for this role.
