An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Horticulture to provide high‑quality teaching and learning to our Horticulture students. The ideal candidate will be delivering and assessing to the appropriate examination body standards across Levels 1 to 3 on a range of subjects related to Horticulture, including but not limited to Amenity Horticulture, Plant Science, Propagation, Soil Science, Machinery, Landscaping and Ecology, and Garden History.
The post holder will provide high‑quality teaching across the College’s Horticulture courses, primarily the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture and RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development, to ensure the effective learning of students being taught. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students.
They will be supported by a team of practical instructors and technicians with regards to the provision of practical learner activities and ensure that all requirements and regulations relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times. Applicants should possess a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in a related discipline. We welcome applications from experienced Lecturers and from those with relevant industry experience who are interested in passing on their skills to others.
