We are seeking a Lecturer in Functional Skills (Maths/English) to support apprentices studying for their functional skills qualifications at Capel Manor College.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver stimulating lessons; set goals that stretch and challenge all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, give feedback, and ensure apprentices are ready to take their functional skills assessments.
  • Deliver additional learning support 1:1 for apprentices identified with an ALS need.

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and have experience teaching functional skills or GCSE Maths and/or English.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and motivated to provide excellent teaching.
  • Experience working with learners of all abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Experience providing effective online learning is essential.
  • Formal teaching experience is not required; full training and support will be provided.

Training and Support

Full training and support, including a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing support from an experienced lecturer. The College will cover the cost of studying towards a recognised teaching qualification.
