An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint an Animal Keeper to join our animal management team.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day routine care of the College's animal stock, including cleaning accommodation, provision of feed, water, bedding, nesting material, and daily health checks.
- The successful candidate will implement the highest industry standards of animal husbandry and welfare, maintain and upgrade animal facilities and record keeping for their area of responsibility, deliver interactive enclosure encounters and experiences to visitors, and support Practical Instructors and Lecturers by ensuring relevant resources (such as animals and equipment) are readily available for learning.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in an animal care discipline, have some experience working with a range of animal species, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety issues, and have a strong commitment to the care and welfare of the College's animals.
