An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Casual Farm Assistant to join our Forty Hall Farm team. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day routine care of the College’s livestock including cleaning out of accommodation, provision of feed, water, bedding, enrichment, and daily health checks.

The successful candidate will be an expert in their area and implement the highest industry standards of animal husbandry and welfare. They will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the animal facilities/fields and record keeping for their area of responsibility. They will also deliver interactive encounters and experiences to visitors.

In addition, our livestock team will be supporting our Practical Instructors and Lecturers, ensuring relevant resources (such as animals and equipment) are readily available for learning. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in an animal care discipline and have some experience working in farming. They will have excellent communication and organisation skills.

They will be able to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety issues and will have a strong commitment to the care and welfare of the College’s animals. Please note that there is weekend and bank holiday working required with this role. The ideal candidate will hold a full clean driving license. This is a casual role, fixed term contract with an end date of 31st August 2026.
