We are working with a highly regarded US City law firm seeking a talented Corporate Lawyer (6 – 8 PQE) to join its market-leading London Corporate team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the City’s preeminent specialist Corporate practices.
The Role
- Due to continued growth and an increasing volume of instructions, the team is looking to recruit a specialist Corporate lawyer to advise on:
- Advising on asset and share sale structures and key deal terms
- Conducting and overseeing specialist due diligence
- Drafting and negotiating key deal documents
- Conducting disclosure exercises
- Advising on joint venture arrangements
- General corporate advice
- Self-motivated business development and business development with the wider team
- Manage all client work allocated to them, liaising with clients, managing expectations and providing consistently excellent client service
- Exercising high standards of client care in a professional and friendly manner
- Ensuring that all the Firm’s business and client documentation is kept confidential and secure
- Keeping up to date with caselaw, policy and planned reforms
You will play a central role in complex, high-value matters while developing strong client relationships and contributing to the continued expansion of the Corporate practice.
Candidate Requirements
- To be considered, you will have:
- 6-8 years PQE of dealing with corporate matters (must be UK qualified)
- Experience in a generalist corporate M&A role is essential
- Previous experience of working within a London US law firm or Magic Circle practice
- Ability to understand complex legal principles and apply them accordingly
- A high level of oral and written communication, presentation and influencing skills with the ability to quickly establish relationships at all levels
- Demonstrate ability to confidently interact with clients and actively seek new business development opportunities
- A commercial and pragmatic outlook
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible and hands-on attitude, responding effectively to rapidly changing circumstances
