A leading Defendant law firm is looking to recruit a Senior Associate to join its top-ranked Catastrophic Injury team in Birmingham. You’ll work on high-value large loss cases (RTA, EL/PL and indemnity), collaborating with Legal 500-recognised Partners on technically complex claims.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either ready to step into a Senior Associate role or currently operating at that level and looking for more autonomy and responsibility. You’ll manage your own files, lead on key client relationships and support the development of junior team members. The team offers a clear progression path with ongoing Partner support and exposure to top tier work. You’ll be trusted with high-level responsibility and enjoy a balance of autonomy and collaboration within a high-performing, well-respected team.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 6+ years PQE in defendant personal injury (Claimant experience also considered)
- Proven experience handling large loss and multi-track litigation
- Confident managing complex files and supporting junior colleagues
- Strong client-handling skills and a commercially focused mindset
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a caseload of catastrophic and complex large loss claims
- Assisting on high-value matters for insurers and commercial clients
- Liaising with clients, counsel and medical experts
- Attending court hearings and client meetings
- Supporting business development and mentoring junior lawyers
