A leading Defendant law firm is looking to recruit a Catastrophic Injury Associate (2–5 PQE) to join its top ranked Catastrophic Injury team in Birmingham. You’ll assist on high-value, complex large loss cases (motor, EL/PL, and indemnity) alongside Legal 500-recognised Partners, with plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility and develop client relationships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a more autonomous role running your own files, mentoring juniors and contribute to business development. The team offers a clear progression route, with full Partner support to help you grow into a Senior Associate.
You’ll be exposed to technically challenging work, direct client contact and the chance to build your profile within a highly respected, award-winning team.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 2–5 years PQE in defendant personal injury (Claimant experience also considered)
- Strong background in multi-track litigation and large loss
- Confident managing high-value claims and dealing with clients at all levels
- Keen to develop professionally and commercially within a collaborative team
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting on a wide range of large loss cases for insurers and self-insured clients
- Conducting liability investigations, reviewing medical evidence and drafting legal documents
- Attending court hearings, pre-trial reviews and client meetings
- Adhering to client SLAs and contributing to business development initiatives
