Responsibilities include:
- Managing all kitchen functions in the absence of the Food Service Director/Executive Chef.
- Reviewing menus prior to food preparation to estimate requirements.
- Coordinating with dietitians and other departments to ensure proper diets are implemented.
- Preparing and serving meals according to standardized recipes, special diets, and therapeutic modifications.
- Maintaining sanitary procedures for food disposal and waste management.
- Seeking and integrating new culinary methods and principles.
- Ensuring proper care and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and inspecting food service areas for sanitation and safety.
- Maintaining confidentiality of resident/patient information and adhering to rights and privacy regulations.
- Demonstrating patience, tact, enthusiasm, and appropriate handling of residents.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of supervisory food service experience in a healthcare or restaurant setting.
- ServSafe and Allergen certifications (within 6 months).
- Leadership skills and ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Proficiency in English.
Position details:
- Purpose: To prepare food in compliance with regulations and policies.
- Schedule: 32 hours/week, rotating days, 11am-7pm or 6am-2pm, with some weekends and holidays.
