Healthcare Public Law and Court of Protection Associate
Liverpool | Flexible working considered | Β£55,000-Β£80,000
If your interest lies in the legal decisions around treatment, capacity and a person's best interests, this Liverpool role offers a substantial healthcare and Court of Protection practice.
I'm recruiting for a specialist healthcare team seeking an Associate with proven Court of Protection experience. You will advise NHS bodies and other health and social care organisations on treatment and welfare cases, mental capacity and deprivation of liberty, together with related public law issues.
The work can involve urgent treatment decisions, best interests applications and advocacy, as well as judicial review, human rights and healthcare funding questions. Alongside proceedings, you will advise on the day-to-day legal problems healthcare clients face, including investigations and patient care issues.
This is an opportunity to deepen a healthcare public law specialism within a large, established practice. You will also have scope to contribute to client training, articles and the development of the team's work, helping turn your technical knowledge into advice that clients can use.
The role is open to qualified solicitors or barristers with Court of Protection and healthcare law experience. Existing inquest work would be useful, but is not essential. The position is based in Liverpool; the firm will consider flexible working requests and individual requirements. I can explain the work and discuss the practical arrangement before you apply.
