I'm working exclusively with a highly regarded specialist claimant law firm looking to appoint an experienced Property & Financial Affairs Court of Protection Solicitor as part of the long-term development of its deputyship team.
It's an opportunity to become the day-to-day operational lead of an established Court of Protection department, working alongside the firm's appointed professional deputies whilst helping shape the future direction of the team.
You’ll inherit an active caseload from day one, supported by experienced deputyship and administrative colleagues, with no expectation to build a client following or create a practice from scratch.
The work is varied, meaningful and often life-changing, involving substantial damages awards, property purchases and adaptations, statutory wills, trusts, investments, OPG reporting and the long-term financial management of clients with significant acquired brain injuries and other lifelong disabilities.
The department already benefits from a well-established internal referral stream through the firm's Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury teams, providing a consistent flow of high-quality work.
Longer term, there is genuine ambition to further develop the department externally and build one of the region's leading Property & Financial Affairs Court of Protection practices.
The Opportunity
- Inherit an established and active Property & Financial Affairs caseload from day one.
- Become the day-to-day operational lead of a specialist deputyship team.
- Work directly alongside the firm's appointed professional deputies, with genuine influence over the department's future.
- Help shape systems, workflows, supervision, technology and future recruitment.
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues within an established support structure.
- Work collaboratively with leading Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury lawyers from the point of substantial interim payments through to final settlement.
- Genuine progression towards leading the department as it continues to develop.

- The Ideal Candidate
You’ll already have strong Property & Financial Affairs Court of Protection experience and be confident managing a varied deputyship caseload with appropriate autonomy.
Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys responsibility, wants their judgement to count and is excited by the opportunity to help develop a specialist department rather than simply joining another established hierarchy.
