Catastrophic Injury Senior Associate β Claimant
Newcastle | Hybrid or remote working | Β£70,000βΒ£90,000
I'm working on a senior claimant catastrophic injury appointment in Newcastle. This is a role for an established practitioner who can lead complex claims, take responsibility for the strategy and guide clients and families through decisions with lasting consequences.
The work
You will manage high-value injury litigation, setting the approach to liability, medical evidence and quantum. You will determine the expert input needed, challenge and develop the evidence and ensure the claim properly reflects the client's long-term needs.
The role includes rehabilitation and interim funding strategy, detailed preparation of future losses and close work with counsel and other specialists. You will need to draw together evidence on care, treatment, accommodation, employment and other relevant heads of loss, then present a clear and supportable position for negotiation or trial.
You will retain responsibility for the client relationship, explaining complex advice sensitively and helping clients make informed decisions. Experience supporting junior lawyers and contributing to technical discussions will also be relevant to the seniority of the appointment.
Your background
I'm looking for a solicitor with around five or more years' PQE and a track record of conducting complex claimant serious or catastrophic injury cases. You should be able to demonstrate independent case strategy, sound judgement on expert evidence and substantial responsibility for settlement preparation and negotiations.
This would suit a senior solicitor or associate whose next move needs to recognise their existing level of practice. The focus is on lawyers already able to lead demanding cases, rather than an assisting appointment.
The salary range is Β£70,000βΒ£90,000 depending on experience. The role has a Newcastle base with hybrid or remote working available.
