A well-regarded national law firm is looking to recruit a Healthcare Regulatory lawyer into its Leeds office. This is a strong opportunity for a solicitor from 1+ PQE upwards who wants to build within a specialist practice handling a varied mix of advisory, regulatory and litigation work across healthcare, social care, education and related sectors.

The role offers broad, intellectually interesting work, with a particular emphasis on inquests, alongside wider exposure to other sensitive and often high-profile matters. The role:

  • Advising on a broad range of healthcare regulatory matters, with a particular focus on inquests and related advisory work
  • Supporting clients in the lead up to and during inquest proceedings
  • Managing a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Advising on issues arising across healthcare, social care and education settings
  • Handling matters involving safeguarding, mental health, patient safety, complaints, investigations and disputes
  • Representing clients at hearings, inquests, tribunals and other related proceedings where appropriate
  • Supporting on wider work including Court of Protection, children law and associated public sector / regulatory matters
  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development activity

What you'll need:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
  • 1+ years' PQE as a guide
  • Experience in healthcare regulatory, health and social care, public law or another closely related area
  • Prior inquest experience would be particularly attractive
  • Confidence managing a mixed caseload of advisory and contentious matters
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a practical approach to client work
  • An interest in developing within a specialist and growing practice area
