Catastrophic Injury Associate - Defendant
Leeds | Hybrid - fortnightly Leeds attendance considered | Β£50,000-Β£67,000
You can develop a career in complex injury litigation without assuming that every opportunity requires a daily commute into Leeds. This defendant catastrophic injury team will consider lawyers living further afield who can attend the office fortnightly.
I'm recruiting for a national insurance practice looking to add an Associate to its Leeds large-loss team. The role is aimed at a solicitor with around two to five years' PQE who wants to deepen their experience of serious and catastrophic injury claims.
You will work on substantial litigation where the quality of the investigation, expert evidence and quantum analysis makes a material difference to the outcome. Alongside responsibility appropriate to your experience, you will contribute to larger cases with experienced colleagues, dealing with insurers, experts and counsel as the defence develops.
This is an opportunity to build confidence with complex evidence and substantial damages, rather than remain confined to a lower-value caseload. A grounding in serious injury litigation and the ability to organise demanding cases will be particularly relevant.
The working arrangement is a clear reason to explore the role if geography has limited your options. Fortnightly attendance is something the team will consider for candidates further afield; I will explain how that would work for your circumstances. You will still be joining an established Leeds team, with the collaboration and access to colleagues that specialist work requires.
