A specialist claimant Serious Injury practice is recruiting an experienced lawyer to join its growing team, with the option of being based from a new London office (hybrid) or working fully remote from elsewhere in the UK. The role offers genuine autonomy, sensible caseloads and the support of a multi‑disciplinary set‑up focused on long‑term client outcomes.
You will take day‑to‑day ownership of complex, high‑value catastrophic injury claims and drive strategy across the lifecycle of each case. Duties will include:
- Leading serious injury matters from early liability investigations through to settlement and, where required, litigation
- Setting case strategy on liability, causation and quantum, including evidence planning and expert selection
- Managing rehabilitation and interim funding strategy to support clients and families at the earliest stage
- Instructing and working closely with medical experts, counsel, case managers, care/OT experts and financial advisers
- Drafting key documents including pleadings, schedules, witness evidence and settlement materials
- Building strong client relationships and delivering an exceptional client care experience
You’ll be supported by, and supervise/coach, a qualified solicitor on your caseload, alongside a paralegal who will assist with day‑to‑day administration and file management.
What you’ll need:
- Qualified solicitor or legal executive (or equivalent), operating at Associate/Senior Associate level in claimant serious injury
- Proven track record running high‑value catastrophic injury files with complex liability and quantum issues
- Strong litigation experience and confident working knowledge of court procedure and case management
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A client‑first approach and the credibility to represent the practice externally within the serious injury sector
- Experience mentoring or developing junior colleagues is beneficial
Working pattern and location:
- London office option (hybrid) for those who want an office base
- Also open to fully remote / home‑based candidates across the UK
- Occasional travel for key client commitments, mediations, conferences or team collaboration (role dependent)
