A significant programme, a serious role. The UK is investing in new nuclear capacity at a scale not seen for a generation. The engineering programmes supporting that build-out are complex, long-horizon, and demanding. Capax Mundi is searching, on behalf of a client, for a Structural Engineer to join one of those programmes and contribute to work that genuinely matters.

This is a structural engineering position supporting a UK nuclear new build programme. You will work on technically demanding structural challenges within a safety-critical environment, contributing to design and delivery across the programme lifecycle. A core part of the work involves finite element analysis using Ansys, so hands-on FEA experience is central to the role. The position is remote, with occasional site or office attendance as the programme requires.

What we are looking for:

  • The essential requirement is a minimum of six years of structural engineering experience in a safety-critical environment.
  • We are open to backgrounds across industries where structural integrity and rigorous engineering standards are non-negotiable, including:
    • Nuclear (new build, decommissioning, or operations)
    • Aerospace and defence
    • Major civil infrastructure (bridges, tunnels, rail)
    • Oil and gas (offshore or onshore)
  • Practical FEA experience, with proficiency in Ansys.
  • You will be comfortable working within formal engineering governance and safety case frameworks, and confident in your ability to apply structural principles to novel or complex challenges.

Interested? If this sounds like you, or like someone you know, please get in touch. All conversations are treated as strictly confidential.
