The role – Support Worker (Community Based, Enablement Support Work)
Following internal promotion, we’re delighted to be hiring a Support Worker to join our Dumfries and Galloway Facilitation Service. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with adults with physical disabilities, helping them build independence and achieve their goals in areas such as employment, education, volunteering, and community life.
Please note: This is a lone-working role in the heart of the community, with hybrid working. It includes a level of physical activity, such as pushing wheelchairs and providing physical support. With little to no personal care responsibilities, this roles focus is on enabling people with physical disabilities, to access their local community and social inclusion networks.
For ease of delivery and partnership working, with other community groups, candidates should have knowledge of the area, with local network connections and knowledge to build on. Due to our location and nature of the support we offer, it is essential that you are based in or within reasonable travel distance to Wigtonshire, with a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
