Support Worker (School Holiday Club)- Edinburgh

Support Worker/Playworker (Holiday Club) – Relief/Bank

Salary – £12.60 per hour

Location – Edinburgh

About the Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team as Support Workers/Playworkers to work within our School Holiday Hub service for children and young people with additional support needs.

The role is all about supporting young people to enjoy fun, meaningful activities, including baking, arts and crafts, games, sports, community trips, and outdoor play. Your focus will be to create a safe and engaging environment where young people can thrive and have lots of fun!

As a relief member of staff , you can choose the shifts you want to work, providing you with flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, sports, baking, and games.
  • Support young people to participate in outdoor play and community trips.
  • Provide personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect for each individual.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where young people feel supported.

Holiday Club (Easter & Summer Holidays):

  • Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Thursday during the school Holidays.
  • Location: St Crispin’s School, Edinburgh, EH17 8EZ.

Who We\’re Looking For:

  • Passionate individuals who enjoy working with children and young people with additional support needs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A qualification in childcare (SVQ3/HNC Childcare qualification) is desirable, but not required. Capability Scotland will provide mandatory training and can support you in completing an SVQ level qualification if needed.
  • A flexible approach to work and a willingness to work both holiday and weekend shifts.
