Upper Springland aims to enable people with a range of disabilities to lead their lives to the full by accessing specialist facilities and services whilst also using community facilities where appropriate. The service provides 24/7 support to the customers who live on site.

About the role

We are currently looking to recruit a relief Driver to assist with the safe transportation of our customers. Duties include the safe clamping of wheelchairs and the safe use of our tail lifts in the transportation process. The role involves lone working.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of working in a similar role and environment; equivalent to a MIDAS qualification.
  • Willingness to undertake personal development opportunities.
  • Full UK driving licence and licensed to drive a minibus.
  • Some knowledge of wheelchairs, tail-lifts, clamping and health and safety is desirable but full training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.

Hours: This role covers our existing drivers’ periods of leave. They work weekends between 0900-1600 & weekdays between 0900-1700. Applicants should have availability during these hours, predominantly covering weekends.
