About the Role
You’ll support the residents, staff, and Facilities Manager to deliver a comfortable, safe, and stimulating environment for all. Ensure the smooth running of the facility by planned and reactive maintenance to provide the best possible standard for our buildings, services, and grounds across the Capability Scotland Estate.
Please note this role may require manual handling and heavy lifting. It also includes regular driving, supporting our vulnerable customers to spend time outside the service.
The ideal Assistant Maintenance Officer will have:
- Excellent communications skills with a passion for helping disabled people live full and inclusive lives.
- Proven work experience of having worked within the building services or engineering sector including basic electrical, plumbing & joinery within either commercial, social care or domestic settings.
- Problem solving skills, with a strong understanding of the requirements of fire safety, health & safety, chemical handling and equipment storage and care.
- IT literacy/experience using the Microsoft suite of programs.
No two days will be the same in this diverse role, you could be decorating one of our service users rooms or having to think outside the box to solve a technical issue for our customers, that may jeopardise their safety. As part of our maintenance team, your actions really make a difference to our service users daily lives.
Hours – 37 hours (Monday-Friday) or 0 hours relief/bank to cover existing AMO's periods of leave.
Location - Isla Road, Perth, PA2 7HQ
Driving licence essential for this role – the appointed person will have access to our organisation's vehicles.
