Job Purpose:

Working alongside the Service Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day leadership of the service while helping to drive forward improvements in care quality, consistency and outcomes. You’ll support and develop our Team Leaders, strengthen oversight of care and support, and help ensure that what we deliver is not only safe and effective, but genuinely person‑centred. A key part of the role will be working with colleagues and professionals to ensure that people’s needs are fully understood, clearly evidenced and appropriately supported. This is a role where you can bring people together, build confidence in the service, and help shape how support is delivered.

Why this role is different:

Wallace Court supports individuals with a high level of complexity, and there is a real opportunity to build on the work already underway to ensure the service is as strong, consistent and responsive as it can be. We’re investing in this role to strengthen our leadership team and create the space needed to focus on quality, improvement and good outcomes. You’ll be joining a supportive environment where your ideas, experience and leadership will be valued, and where you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact.

Main Activities:

  • Provide management support and direction to Team Leader and/or staff in their delivery of Care and Support to customers
  • Support the Service Manager, Team Leader and staff in meeting the requirements of organisational policy and procedure
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements (e.g. Care Inspectorate, SSSC)
  • Identify, quantify, and direct Customer requirements through their individualised budgets and costed support plans
  • Undertake Investigations and Risk Assessments
  • Manage Budgetary and Financial Controls, including SDS, ILF and Personalised Budgets and Care Plans that result thereof.
  • Service Promotion and Development
  • Prescribed duties and responsibilities of the Service Manager delegated down to the Care and Support Manager
  • Deputise in the absence of the Service Manager

About you:

You might already be in a management role, or you may be an experienced Team Leader ready for the next step. What matters most:

  • Care about delivering high-quality, person-centred support
  • Are confident leading and supporting others
  • Have a strong understanding of care standards and good practice
  • Are organised, proactive and able to see the bigger picture
  • Want a role where you can make things better, not just maintain them

Requirements:

An SVQ4 (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it, is essential. Driver licence preferred but not essential.

What you need to know:

Hours: Up to 37 hours per week – Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2027

Closing date: 25th May 2026

Interview date: 2nd June 2026
