We are looking to recruit Community Living Assistants for our Craigmillar service based in Edinburgh. The role involves supporting people with a range of disabilities in our spacious day centre setting, which supports 22 adult customers and offers craft, digital, sewing, art, and baking & cooking groups along with excellent links to our surrounding community.
You will be supporting our customers with either 1-1 or group care; your day will include helping them with their personal care, dressing, medication, communication, mobility, mealtimes, and participating in their chosen interactive activities including swimming, going to the gym, dancing, or “music for all” groups. The variety of community-based activities you would support aims to meet our customers' individual needs and outcomes, incorporating the use of assistive technology.
What you need to know:
- Hours: Up to 30 hours per week. Our day support services are between 9am-3pm Monday – Friday, with an expectation that you would support with shift cover (day/back and nightshift) in short break respite services (as overtime/additional hours).
- Location: SPACE, 11 Harewood Road, Edinburgh, EH16 4NT (Respite services are based in Chesser & Hailsland Park – Edinburgh EH14). Please note that this role requires travel throughout the Edinburgh area to support our customers with community-based/social activities.
- Drivers preferred but not essential; we welcome applications from drivers, but we can consider non-drivers. If you do need to go out and about with our customer for that dinner and cinema trip, your costs are covered.
