Overview
Community Living Assistant – Craigmillar role at Capability Scotland. We are recruiting Community Living Assistants for our Craigmillar service based in Edinburgh. The role supports people with a range of disabilities in a day-centre setting and includes personal care, mobility, meals, and participation in activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-1 or group care to customers, including personal care, dressing, medication support, communication, mobility, meals, and participation in interactive activities (e.g., swimming, gym, dancing, \”music for all\” groups).
- Assist with activities and outcomes to meet individual needs using assistive technology where appropriate.
- Support customers in a bright, fully accessible day-centre setting that hosts groups such as craft, digital, sewing, art, baking, and cooking.
What You Need To Know
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week. Day support services are 9am–3pm, Monday–Friday, with potential shift cover (day/night) in short break respite services as overtime/additional hours.
Location: SPACE, 11 Harewood Road, Edinburgh EH16 4NT (Respite services are based in Chesser & Hailesland Park – Edinburgh EH14). Travel throughout the Edinburgh area to support customers.

Job Description: Community Living Assistant. Drivers preferred but not essential; non-drivers considered. If you need to travel with a customer for dinners and cinema trips, costs are covered.
