Are you caring, compassionate and looking for a job where you can genuinely make a difference to someone's life?

Capability Scotland is looking for Support Workers / Community Living Assistants to join our team supporting adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities across North Lanarkshire.

Whether you're an experienced Support Worker or you're looking to start your career in care, you don't need previous care experience. We provide full training and will fully fund your SVQ qualification.

Our support visits are typically a minimum of four hours, giving you the time to build meaningful relationships and provide high-quality, person-centred support.

What you'll do

As a Support Worker, you'll help the people we support to live fulfilling and independent lives. Your role may include:

  • Providing personal care with dignity, respect and compassion
  • Supporting with medication and mealtimes
  • Encouraging independence, choice and decision-making
  • Supporting people to access their local community
  • Helping with hobbies, interests and social activities
  • Assisting with household tasks and everyday living
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Providing person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs

No two days are the same, and the difference you make can be huge.

  • You don't need previous experience in care. More important to us is that you are:
  • Caring, kind and compassionate
  • Reliable, patient and dependable
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Respectful of people's choices, dignity and independence
  • Flexible and willing to work a range of shifts
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential because this is a community-based role.

We provide support 24 hours a day, so there are a variety of shifts available, including:

  • Day shifts
  • Back shifts

We offer full-time, part-time and weekend-only opportunities, with rotas issued well in advance to help you plan your life outside work.

Please note that you must be able to work shifts. We are unable to accommodate availability restricted to specific hours such as 9am-2pm.
